Menu Bar¶

Access tunnels from the menu bar without opening the main window.

Enable Menu Bar¶

1. Open Settings (Cmd+,)
2. Go to General tab
3. Enable Show Status in Menu Bar

The icon appears immediately.

Using the Popup¶

Click the menu bar icon to open the popup:

• Tunnel list -- Tunnels with status indicators; an overflow count points to additional tunnels in the main window
• Switches -- Start or stop each tunnel. Right-click a row to start, stop, retry, or open the tunnel in the main window
• Manage -- Open the main StormTunnel window
• Stop All -- Stop every active tunnel; appears when tunnels are connected
• Quit -- Exit application

Each row shows the tunnel name and local endpoint. If you have no tunnels, Open Main Window takes you to tunnel creation. An AWS SSO section with sign-in, refresh, and sign-out actions appears when relevant to your configured tunnels.

If you quit while tunnels are active, a confirmation asks whether to stop them and quit.

Close the popup by clicking outside it, clicking the icon again, or pressing Esc.

Start a Tunnel¶

1. Click the menu bar icon
2. Find your tunnel
3. Turn its switch on, or click the tunnel row

Stop a Tunnel¶

1. Click the menu bar icon
2. Find the active tunnel
3. Turn its switch off, or click the tunnel row
