After 14 days, you'll automatically return to the Free plan unless you upgrade.

Upgrade to Premium

Option 1: In-App Upgrade

  2. Click "View Plans & Upgrade"
  3. Choose monthly or lifetime

  5. Premium activates instantly

Option 2: Website Purchase

  1. Visit stormtunnel.app/pricing
  2. Choose your plan
  3. Complete purchase
  4. Check email for license key
  5. In app: Settings → License → Activate
  6. Enter your license key

Managing Your License

Check Your Current Plan

Settings → License shows:

  • Your current plan (Free or Premium)
  • License expiration (if monthly)
  • Features available to you
  • Upgrade options

Moving to a New Mac

If you have a Premium license:

  1. On old Mac: Settings → License → Deactivate
  2. On new Mac: Install StormTunnel
  3. Settings → License → Activate
  4. Enter your license key

You can use Premium on up to 2 Macs at once.

Cancel Subscription

Monthly subscribers:

  1. Visit your customer portal (link in purchase email)
  2. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  3. You'll keep Premium until your current period ends
  4. No partial refunds for current month

Lifetime licenses never expire for v1.x updates.

Understanding Free vs Premium

When You'll See Upgrade Prompts

StormTunnel lets you configure everything on the Free plan. You'll only see upgrade prompts when you try to:

  • Start a 2nd tunnel while one is already running
  • Connect to AWS via Session Manager
  • Enable auto-reconnect on a tunnel

This means you can:

  • ✅ Create unlimited tunnel configurations
  • ✅ Set up AWS tunnels (just can't start them)
  • ✅ Import SSH keys
  • ✅ Explore all settings

Visual Hints

Free plan users see helpful badges:

  • 🔒 Small lock icon on AWS tunnels
  • 💎 "Premium" badge next to AWS Session Manager
  • 📊 Tunnel counter in menu bar (e.g., "1 of 1 running")

These don't block you - they just show what's available in Premium.

Common Questions

Do I need internet for Premium?

Yes, StormTunnel validates your license every 24 hours when online. If you're offline:

  • Premium works for 14 days without internet
  • You'll see warnings at 7 days and 3 days remaining
  • Free features always work offline

What payment methods do you accept?

  • Credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover)
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Regional payment methods based on your location

Can I get a refund?

Yes! 30-day money-back guarantee on all purchases.

What about corporate firewalls?

Premium license validation needs access to:

  • Domain: api.stormtunnel.app
  • Port: 443 (HTTPS)
  • Protocol: TLS 1.2+
